Can someone please explain to me what smart light switches are?

Smart light switches (and dimmers) are exactly the same as your old fashioned wall switches, except they can be managed remotely by a smart app (for example through your phone). So you could switch on your lights while sitting in the local cinema, or set a schedule which turns the lights on and off while you are on vacation.

Smart switches gives you intelligent and remote control over existing "dumb" devices: switch on and off, scheduling, dimming, colours etc.

Smart switches are controlled remotely using wifi.
