Last post by harriet_paul, 8 years ago Posts: 8 Views: 869 Which kind of lighting can be used to set a perfect restaurant to make people stay longer & spend more time? What type of lighting will make my customers stay longer (and spend more money 😎)? By bing_mart... 8 years ago Make sure you use warm white lights that is quite intimate, and relaxing. That is often done with a designer pendant light hung just above the table using an Edison globe. Provides the perfect experience IMHO! By evans_eva 8 years ago Other than emergency lights, you should ensure the lighting is for your customers not for your staff. So you should create warm atmosphere with a welcoming mood. I've seen LED strip lights on the walls that did a wonderful job. By cage_chri... 8 years ago Lighting can literally make or break a restaurant. If your budget is very small, you can install warm white gimble downlight (make sure they are gimbles, as you will want to adjust them) which are dimmable. By ruby_walk... 8 years ago A dim table lamp on each table (you can get LED table lamps that actually flicker like candles these days) makes a lovely touch, and also enables patrons to read the menu which is sometimes very hard in dim lighting. By smith_eli... 8 years ago warm white downlights above the bar area makes for a perfect little scene in restaurant. By evans_eva 8 years ago This dim, moody, romantic lighting. This will enhance the experience and motivate the customers to buy wine and spirits, which is a huge money spinner. Lighting should make the patrons isolated from other tables. By Cynthia 8 years ago Whatever lights you choose there are two guidelines: 1. They should be warm white. 2. They should be dimmable. They are fluorescent. I am wondering if I should just upgrade all of them to LED? By Charlotte 8 years ago I would highly recommend it. LEDs last much, much longer than fluorescent lights, they give off better light, and they are cheaper to run. By Mike 8 years ago LED lights are extremely energy efficient and they have the longest lifespan of any type of light. So definitely yes. By Daniel 8 years ago Apart from reasons already given, you will save on maintenance costs. By David 8 years ago Yes, upgrade to LED because of the following advantages: LEDs consume less energy They have far longer lifespans If they are commercial grade, then they will last decades They are less fragile They do not flicker or degrade They are eco friendly They are instant on By Mary 8 years ago A very important issue in office is to reduce eye strain and other discomforts. LED panels, which are the most popular choice for fluro replacements, produce very high grade diffused light so are perfect for office environments. By Nancy 8 years ago Should I aim to have near-perfect lighting in the office? Last post by Daniel, 8 years ago Posts: 8 Views: 832 How important is it is get the lighting in an office almost perfect? Is it really necessary or is just overblown? By evans_eva 8 years ago Studies have shown the bad lighting can cause headaches, eye strain, and lead to lost productivity and efficiency. So I would say it is vital and will pay for itself. By cage_chri... 8 years ago Great office lighting will pay for itself many times over. By grey_chri... 8 years ago Over the years I have worked in many offices, with a range of lighting that has been from the atrocious to the sublime. I can categorically state that bad or even medium lighting has had a detrimental impact on everything - including worker output, sickness, fatigue, you name it. By parkar_da... 8 years ago Office lighting is so important that it is now considered a part of health and safety. By ruby_walk... 8 years ago People spend more time in the office than anywhere else, and need to be fresh and alert the entire time, so it is extremely important to get right. By evans_ros... 8 years ago A lot of employers overlook good lighting because they underestimate its important. Don't make that mistake! By smith_eli... 8 years ago Offices should avoid bad lighting which includes: Areas which are too bright Pools of shadows Direct glare Indirect glare from shiny surfaces Bad contrast Flickering lights Monitors with bad lights By Daniel 8 years ago What lights should I choose for a small office? Last post by parkar_daniel, 8 years ago Posts: 8 Views: 867 What lights are the right ones for a small office space? By david_gre... 8 years ago Most countries actually have a standard for this. For example, in Australia the standard for office lighting is covered under AS 1680.2.2-1994 Interior lighting - Office and screen-based tasks. By martin_wh... 8 years ago I think the best type of lighting for offices is LED panels. Very affordable and provides excellent illumination without glare. By Charlotte 8 years ago I have seen lot of modern offices with smart lights. That way the office conserves a lot of energy whilst at the same time being able to control brightness etc at the tip of a switch. By thomas_is... 8 years ago Some offices use ceiling spotlights. That requires much better design to avoid pools of shadows and over bright illumination, but I think provides a much better aesthetic than LED panel lights. By john_marg... 8 years ago Hallways in offices can simply use the good old fashioned downlights. By harriet_p... 8 years ago A good office environment will also include desk lights for its staff, particularly when a lot of reading of paper documentation is involved. By Johnson 8 years ago A lot of office workers get eye strain and headaches due to inappropriate lighting - whether that be too bright, too dark, or too much glare. A proper lighting design is critical for any office to avoid this. By parkar_da... 8 years ago How much should I budget for commercial lighting? Last post by Mary, 8 years ago Posts: 3 Views: 775 I am about to outfit a retail business with commercial grade LED lights - what should be my budget? By Chen 8 years ago Obviously it depends on the size of your premises and the use of the lights, but you get what you pay for. Don't go for cheap lights because they will fail and you will be called back to replace them in a few months time. By Maria 8 years ago If you are looking for commercial grade shop lights over 1000 lumens, then you would be paying at least $50 and for really high grade ones, three times that.
