I can't work out what is better to get: a smart light globe or a smart light switch? Help needed please!

Because a single smart switch can control multiple globes, it is probably cheaper to get the switch. However with smart globes you can change brightness and some even change colour, and schedule them to specific brightnesses. So overall I would say light bulbs.

Neither is better - they have different capabilities and you need to choose depending upon what you need and want.

If you are looking purely at cost, then a single smart switch is better because it can control multiple light bulbs.

Switches are more economical and simpler.
However individual smart light bulbs give you much more control.
