Good lights for small rooms are recessed ceiling lights, particularly gimbles as they can be directed with precision.

Make sure that your walls are bright white as that gives the illusion of more space, and also don't put too much furniture in there.

A pendant in the middle of the ceiling is a must, but make sure it is bright.

Make sure you use multiple lights in various points of the room, to banish the shadows - in a small room, shadow is your enemy!

Put a statement pendant or chandelier in the center of the ceiling - it will draw the eye away from the room and small floor.

Try hanging various vintage filament globes, at various heights, around the room. Gives the illusion of space.
