What are good ways to light up my home indoors?

Important to understand whether your ceilings are high, medium or low. Don't use lights that hang wrong height.

Rule I use is that for a 8 foot ceiling, I have the bottom of my ceiling light hanging about 1 to 2 feet below the ceiling.

If you have a pendant light above a table, then it should be 28 to 35 inches above it.

Indoor lighting should be layered - so consider using downlights along with sconces table lamps and floor lamps.

Avoid bad shadows!

Strongly recommend warm lights for indoors. I would stay away from cool white and daylight white lights.

Lights on steps is critical! Not only does it make the steps look so much better but it is great for safety too.

Consider using LED strip light on cabinets and edges of ceilings.

Table lamps and floor lamps with bright coloured shades can be a great feature in your rooms.

Layering is important in terms of ambient lighting as well as feature lighting, and even accent lighting via spotlights.

Strongly recommend using vintage filament globes. You can get LED ones these days which never burn out and look exactly like the real thing.
