It depends on what it is being used for.
If you are looking to illuminate a sport stadium for example, the n the best advice is to get one with long warranty and from a reputable brand name. If thing go wrong you do not want to pick up the replacement costs.

If you are installing in the home, I would suggest to think about flood lights with sensors, as these will save you a lot of electricity.
Alternatively, install timers.

Look at the IP rating carefully - as flood lights can go from IP44 to IP67. Make sure the IP rating is correct for the conditions.
